How into RVs do you have to be in order to have a RV park wedding? Believe it or not that is just where a few of my friends got married. When you own your own Class A motorhome, it is more than a comfortable way to travel. It is a whole lifestyle.
The RV Subculture
While there are the casual RV owners who take their toy haulers and pop-ups out on 3-day weekends, a whole other subculture of people LIVE the RV lifestyle. They do more than just “camp” in their motorhome. They actively search for things to do “with” their motorhome.
There are web pages dedicated to all the events going on around the country. Those who love the culture spend their time planning for the next event. The weeks leading up to the big event are spent fixing up the RV and all their “toys.” They wash and shine everything until it sparkles. They do not care that after a few short minutes at the events everything is dirty again. They take pride in the RV.
The RV Events
Every month there is some big event for people to go to. RV parks around the country spend a lot of time and energy to attract the crowds. Normal RV parks are turned into adult playgrounds filled with fun loving RV enthusiasts.
Here you will find people who love the lifestyle. You do not have to own a class a motorhome to get in. Not here. Here people from all walks of life show up in everything from fully loaded Class A motorhomes to the simplest of travel trailers. They do not gather with strangers because here no one is a stranger. They are just people you have not met yet.
Rich or Poor: All Are Welcome
When you consider that everyone is welcome and everyone is there to have a good time, it only makes sense that people develop close bonds. Police officers gather with fast food clerks. Lawyers and doctors gather with the homemakers. In the RV subculture, all that matters is the RV. If you have an RV, then you are welcomed with open arms to all events.
Now that you know more about the RV subculture, it makes more sense why some friends got married at the RV park. To them, it was a big event they wanted to share with friends. How else would you expect an RV enthusiast to get married? It was a special event and that meant they had to hold it at a special place.
