The Class B RV is the smallest of the motorized RVs. We like to think of it as a sporting RV or a “real man’s” RV. It may not have all the girlie luxuries like a washing machine but it does have everything guys need for hunting. In fact, it is the perfect size to go hunting with some buddies.
Small Enough to Travel
Every January, we pack up the RV and head off on our own personal war on deer. We cannot take a bigger RV, as it would not make it down the winding dirt trails we take. These trips are always reserved for what we called “Deer Hunter.” Deer Hunter has given us 18 years of good hunting. In that time, we have customized it to become the perfect Deer Hunting machine.
Customized with a Purpose
The Deer Hunter has been fully customized for the sole purpose of killing the maximum deer possible. Deer Hunter has a custom paint job. While the greens and brown stick out at the local Wal-Mart, it blends in with the trees in Abilene. The custom paint means I can park it close to the deer stand without being spotted.
While we spend most of deer season in the stand, the RV comes in handy during the middle of the day when they are least active. We take this time to refill our canteens and eat. Eating in the RV means less smells to spook the dear. In fact, it is a great place to eat some peanut butter.
Room for More
Right now my youngest son is just an infant. He is too small to go out with the big boys. Still, I look forward to the day when I can take him out on his first deer-hunting trip. His brother was just a tad over 5 when I taught him to shoot. Then a few years later at the young age of 10, he shot his first pig
We didn’t expect to be 40 with an infant, but here we are. Just when my oldest is headed out hunting with his friends, we got a new one to hunt with. Deer Hunter taught my first boy to hunt 15 years ago and now it will teach my youngest to hunt too. If we are lucky, Deer Hunter will teach a few grandchildren as well.
I would highly recommend all hunters out there to get their own Class B RV. It will never be like our Deer Hunter but you can make it your own. If you ever see us out on the road, give us a quick honk.
