If you have a recreational vehicle, it’s likely that at some point in time you are going to want to sell it.  This might be because you want to upgrade to a newer model or you might be done with your RV days wanting to move onto something else.  Find out some practical tips that will help you sell your RV and potentially get a better price.

First of all make sure that your recreational vehicle is ready to sell.  Make the mechanical repairs that it needs to work properly fixing up those little things that you know have been wrong.  Repair the inside of your RV so that it’s more presentable.  Make sure that the inside of your vehicle smells fresh.  This makes a huge difference to a buyer when things smell good.

Use your local and regional classifieds.  Many of these are free or very inexpensive.  You can get many eyeballs on your offer if you use these classified services.

Not only do you need to use the classifieds, but you need to use the online services as well that you can advertise your RV for sale.  Use the online classified services.  Go to RV trading sites and list what you have to offer.  Be sure that you also use Craigslist as this is the most likely place that you are going to be able to sell your RV online at.  Make sure you take a number of high quality pictures of the outside and inside of the RV for best results.

Make sure that you set a fair price.  If it’s too high, no one will look at what you have to offer.  If it’s too low, you will leave money on the table that you could have got out of your vehicle. 

Don’t hang onto your RV looking for the perfect price.  Each month you are losing money in storage fees and insurance.

Get your paperwork in order.  This would be the title, any liens on it, and other regulations that you need to meet in order to sell your vehicle legally.  Buyers hate waiting around for this process to be done when they just want to buy.
