Tips for Purchasing a RV
It is your retirement and you should enjoy it. That means you need to pick out the best motorhome available and thus does not always mean the most expensive. You must consider your needs and desires before looking around.

To help you decide we have some questions to help you narrow down your choices.

•    Do you want to take the RV with you everywhere? Or do you want to unhook and travel around in your car?
o    If you don’t mind taking the RV with you everywhere, then a Class A, Class B, or Class C may work for you.
o    If you want to roam around in your car, then you will to consider a pop-up, toy hauler, or a fifth wheel.
o    The other option is pulling your car behind the Class A or Class C motorhome.

•    Do you plan on taking people with you?
o    If you want to pick up your children or grandchildren and take them with you, then you need to consider more beds.
o    Think about how many beds you will need and not how many the RV sleeps.

•    Consider the amenities
o    All motorhomes will have a bathroom and a shower. However, some will only have an outside shower. Is this okay or do you need an inside shower?
o    Again they will all have refrigerators, but you need one big enough to meet your needs. Do you want to shop once a week or every few days?

Tips for Your Home
Unless you plan on living in the RV the rest of your life, you need to take care of your home. Before hitting the road, consider the following:

How are you going to pay the mortgage on your house? (Even homes that are paid off require taxes and insurance payments.)
Do you have someone to check your mail or will you place a hold on it?
Will you take cell phones to let concerned family know where you are? How will you keep in touch?
How does your health insurance work in other states?
Can you get your medication while on the road or will you need to take a supply with you?

Retirement is meant to be enjoyed. Therefore, you need to carefully consider these things before you start looking for motorhomes for sale. A little planning now will save you much hassle later.
